Terms and Conditions

Effective Date: January 1, 2024

These Terms and Conditions govern the use of interior design services provided by Citi Design Studio. By engaging our services, you agree to be bound by these terms.

1. Service Agreement

1.1 Scope of Services

Citi Design Studio provides interior design services including but not limited to:

  • Design consultation and planning
  • 2D and 3D design visualization
  • Material selection and procurement
  • Project execution and supervision
  • Residential and commercial interior design
  • Modular furniture design and installation
  • Renovation and remodeling services

1.2 Service Commencement

Services will commence upon receipt of the agreed advance payment and signed approval of the design proposal. The client must provide all necessary information and access required for project execution.

1.3 Design Approval Process

All designs must be approved by the client before execution. Once approved, any changes requested will be subject to additional charges based on the scope of modifications required.

2. Payment Terms

2.1 Payment Schedule

Our standard payment schedule is as follows:

  • 10-15% - Upon design approval (non-refundable)
  • 25-30% - Before material procurement
  • 25-30% - Upon completion of structural work
  • 20-25% - During installation phase
  • 10-15% - Upon project completion

2.2 Payment Methods

We accept payments via bank transfer, cheque, UPI, and credit/debit cards. All payments must be made as per the agreed schedule to avoid project delays.

2.3 Late Payments

Late payments may result in project suspension. A late fee of 2% per month may be charged on overdue amounts. We reserve the right to halt work until pending payments are cleared.

2.4 Additional Costs

Any changes to the approved design, additional work requested, or unforeseen structural modifications will be charged separately after client approval.

3. Project Timeline and Execution

3.1 Timeline Commitment

Project timelines are estimated based on the scope of work and are subject to:

  • Timely payment as per schedule
  • Client approvals without delays
  • Material availability
  • Site readiness and access
  • No major design changes after approval

3.2 Delays

Citi Design Studio shall not be liable for delays caused by:

  • Client-requested changes or delays in approvals
  • Force majeure events (natural disasters, pandemics, etc.)
  • Third-party vendor delays
  • Site access restrictions
  • Structural issues discovered during execution

3.3 Working Hours

Standard working hours are Monday to Saturday, 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM. Work outside these hours may be arranged with additional charges applicable.

4. Client Responsibilities

4.1 Site Preparation

The client is responsible for:

  • Providing clear access to the work site
  • Obtaining necessary permissions from society/building management
  • Ensuring basic amenities (electricity, water) at the site
  • Clearing the space of personal belongings before work begins
  • Arranging for safe storage of valuable items

4.2 Approvals and Decisions

Clients must provide timely approvals for designs, materials, and color selections. Delays in decision-making may impact project timeline and costs.

4.3 Communication

Clients should communicate through designated project managers. All major decisions and changes must be documented in writing or email.

5. Materials and Quality

5.1 Material Selection

All materials will be as per approved specifications. We work with trusted vendors and brands to ensure quality. Clients may request specific brands subject to availability and cost adjustments.

5.2 Quality Standards

We maintain high quality standards in execution. All work is supervised by experienced professionals and subject to quality checks at various stages.

5.3 Material Warranties

Manufacturer warranties on materials and appliances will be passed on to clients. Citi Design Studio provides workmanship warranty as specified in the project agreement.

6. Warranty and After-Sales Service

6.1 Warranty Coverage

Citi Design Studio provides:

  • 1-year warranty on workmanship
  • Manufacturer warranty on materials and appliances
  • Free maintenance service for first year (minor adjustments)
  • 24/7 support helpline for urgent issues

6.2 Warranty Exclusions

Warranty does not cover:

  • Damage due to misuse or negligence
  • Normal wear and tear
  • Modifications done by third parties
  • Force majeure events
  • Electrical or plumbing issues not related to our work

6.3 Service Requests

Service requests should be raised through our official channels. Response time is 24-48 hours for non-urgent issues and same day for urgent matters.

7. Cancellation and Refund Policy

7.1 Cancellation by Client

If the client cancels the project:

  • Before design finalization: 90% refund of advance payment
  • After design approval: Design fee (10-15%) is non-refundable
  • After material procurement: Cost of procured materials is non-refundable
  • During execution: Payment for completed work is non-refundable

7.2 Cancellation by Citi Design Studio

In the unlikely event we need to cancel, clients will receive a full refund of unused payments, minus the cost of completed work and procured materials.

7.3 Refund Process

Refunds, if applicable, will be processed within 15-30 working days through the original payment method.

8. Intellectual Property

8.1 Design Ownership

All design concepts, drawings, and 3D visualizations remain the intellectual property of Citi Design Studio until full payment is received. Upon full payment, usage rights are transferred to the client for the specific project only.

8.2 Portfolio Rights

Citi Design Studio reserves the right to photograph completed projects and use them for portfolio, marketing, and promotional purposes unless explicitly restricted by the client in writing.

8.3 Confidentiality

We maintain strict confidentiality regarding client information, project details, and personal preferences shared during the project.

9. Limitation of Liability

9.1 Service Liability

Our liability is limited to the value of services provided. We are not liable for indirect, consequential, or incidental damages arising from our services.

9.2 Third-Party Products

We are not liable for defects in third-party products or materials. Such issues should be addressed directly with the manufacturer under their warranty terms.

9.3 Structural Issues

Citi Design Studio is not responsible for pre-existing structural issues or those arising from building defects not related to our work.

10. Dispute Resolution

10.1 Amicable Resolution

Any disputes shall first be attempted to be resolved through mutual discussion and negotiation in good faith.

10.2 Arbitration

If disputes cannot be resolved amicably, they shall be settled through arbitration under the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996. The arbitration shall be conducted in Pune.

10.3 Jurisdiction

These terms shall be governed by the laws of India, and courts in Pune shall have exclusive jurisdiction over any disputes.

11. General Terms

11.1 Entire Agreement

These terms, along with the project-specific agreement, constitute the entire agreement between the parties and supersede all prior understandings.

11.2 Modifications

Any modifications to these terms must be in writing and signed by both parties.

11.3 Severability

If any provision of these terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall continue to be valid and enforceable.

11.4 Force Majeure

Neither party shall be liable for failure to perform obligations due to events beyond reasonable control, including but not limited to natural disasters, war, pandemic, or government actions.

12. Updates to Terms

Citi Design Studio reserves the right to update these terms and conditions. Changes will be effective from the date of posting on our website. For ongoing projects, existing terms at the time of agreement will apply.
